The history of Springfield, seen through the eyes of one of its oldest institutions

The Rev. Cn. Beth Tjoflat serves as vicar for St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Springfield and Church Without Walls downtown.  Beth grew up in Jacksonville and studied and worked in California, where she enjoyed a career in Development.  Her last position brought her back to Jacksonville as Chair of Development at Mayo.  She went to seminary in 2008, and, after ordination, founded the Church Without Walls ministry over 8 years ago.  She continues street ministry as part of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Springfield. St. Mary’s is dedicated to reaching out to those on the fringes as well as to train and support those curious about urban ministry.  She and her beautiful son Daron were united just over 4 years ago; he enjoys baseball and being a student at San Jose Episcopal. They share their home with two hounds and a cat.
